The afternoon slump

It's 3pm and it has just kicked in. It's the afternoon slump.
Productivity takes a dive and you find yourself searching for that quick pick me up. Frantically searching for a sugar hit or coffee.
While a quick fix may work , it's not for long. Here's a few tips you may want to take on board to help beat that afternoon slump...
Stretch! Try and work a little exercise into your daily routine. Sitting at your desk all day leaves your mind becoming fatigued. Regular stretches and walks around the office help awaken the mind & body and will give you that little extra natural pick me up. Try and take your eyes off the screen every now and then as well, remember the 20/20 rule! Every 20 minutes, look into the distance for 20 seconds. This helps give your eyes a rest from the strain of looking at your computer screen.
Brekkie! Don't skip breakfast. It's true when they say that breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. A healthy, nutritious breakfast filled with carbohydrates & protein will get your body & mind set for a day in the office. It will even increase your general wellbeing!
Nuts! Snack on Pecans, walnuts & raw almonds through the day and fuel your body. Nuts are a great source of a slow releasing fuel that will give you that little bit of oomph you need to get you through the day. Reach for the nuts next time your thinking of that quick caffeine fix and you will not only get a boost, but you'll also be helping your body!
